HEY, I’M KEVIN, CERTIFIED HOLISTIC HEALTH COACH through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). I guess my journey into health and wellness started back in March of 2011; I didn’t really know it started then until just now, I went back through some old pictures so I could get a timeline. So yeah, March 2011 I started my spiritual journey, so to speak, after a bad relationship, due to no one’s fault but my own; perhaps I will write about that at a later date.

Actually, it all started Christmas Eve Dec 24, 2010—holy smokes—when I attended what is known as Deeksha, or Oneness Blessing in the west. It was actually quite amazing, the Deeksha or Blessing was… well its hard to explain, let’s just say something happened and then after the Blessings I noticed I had a big lump on my elbow (later to be determined as bursitis). This gentleman by the name of Jivan came up to me and asked if I wanted to keep it or get rid of it, I obviously said I wanted it gone. So he proceeded to tell me to visualize him throwing it into the creek that was across the park from the house and floating away, he cupped his hands over the lump and said are you ready – counted to three and went through the motions of grabbing the lump and throwing it into the creek; and then said there, it’s gone. I kind of chuckled and said, okay thanks. Shortly after that I went to the hospital and the doctor diagnosed it as bursitis and told me to make an appointment with my family doctor and that I would have to get it drained. I went home, went to bed and when I woke up… you guessed it, the bursitis was pretty much gone and I haven’t had an issue since.

Coincidence? Maybe, I like to think of it as magic.

Fast forward a few months, March 2011, and about a month after a breakup I found myself hurting quite a bit and decided to get an angel reading, all these so-called weird things were coming into my life from the Deeksha Group, and during this reading it was determined that my heart chakra was closed or very small. I took to meditation to open my heart chakra, and this was at a time called breakup in the oilfield so I had 2 months off of work. I meditated as much as I could and read spiritual books, I basically just took care of my spirit. One day I meditated for about 5 hours off and on, I was an emotional basket case that day. I was on the couch watching television and a commercial would come on and I would breakdown and cry like I had never cried before. It was messed up, I would like to see video from that day. Anyways, I would cry, meditate, watch TV; cry, meditate, watch TV, all day.

I had this sensation in my chest or on my chest all day and I believe that was the day things really changed for the better. I had a daily meditation practice, lots of self-reflection and Deeksha twice a week. I received Deeksha training so I could dive deeper into myself and give Oneness Blessings. I was feeling the best I had ever felt in my entire life, I was happy. By the end of 2011, I started yoga, cleaned up my diet to what I thought was healthy; half my plate was still meat like a 10 oz sirloin or two 1 inch thick pork chops, and I kept following what felt good on the spiritual side for the next year.

Boxing day 2012 I was cruising through Netflix and came across Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead; well that sure triggered something in me. I watched every health, wellness and food documentary I could find (and still do) and I researched juicers for the next 6 weeks and on February 13, 2013, I got my first juicer. I juiced twice a day for three months and during that time I attended a plant-based cooking seminar. One of the facilitators mentioned Earthlings The Movie and how good it was, I went home a watched it that night and the next day I was on a plant-based diet. I have eaten Rotten Ron’s once and scallops another time, both at three in the morning during moments of weakness due to lots of beer and beef broth in a noodle bowl that I was told was veggie broth (I had that quite a few times until the one waitress set me straight). I am sure there were a few other times too with butter and bread ingredients but that’s about it. So I’ve been basically living off of plants for two and a half years which in part is what lead me to attend health coaching school at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I have come to the belief that plants are what heal us and keep us from getting sick, there are some other lifestyle factors to add to that, but basically we are what we eat and more importantly, we are what we absorb.

I am here to serve you with all my heart in becoming happy, healthy and well.

Thanks for reading my story and I will see you on the inside as you start your own revolution.

Peace.

p.s.

This Canadian commercial, below, was another trigger that got me eating healthier. I said, there is no way in hell that is going to be the last ten years of my life.

“Happy healthy,
happy healthy,
happy healthy dead.”
– Abraham-Hicks

That’s how I want to go.
